Welcome to Progressive Opportunities, a company committed to supporting scholars and parents throughout the beautiful state of Florida. Our mission is to provide free resources and opportunities that help nurture academic growth and personal development.

Our journey began in 2022, when a group of passionate educators and parents came together with a shared vision: to bridge the gap and create equal chances for every scholar in Florida to succeed. Armed with dedication and a belief in the power of education, they established Progressive Opportunities.

From the very start, we focused on identifying the unique needs of scholars and parents across Florida. We understood that access to quality resources and guidance is key to unlocking the promising futures of young minds. To address this, we set out to create a comprehensive platform that offers a myriad of free resources for both scholars and parents, facilitating their journey towards academic excellence.

As the months rolled by, our commitment and efforts garnered significant recognition and support from educators, policymakers, and communities alike. Their faith in our vision fueled our growth, allowing us to expand our reach and extend our services to more scholars and parents – empowering them with the tools they need to thrive.

Progressive Opportunities has built a robust network of passionate individuals dedicated to driving positive change in education. Our team comprises experienced educators and visionary leaders who work tirelessly to conceptualize, develop, and refine the resources we offer.

We take pride in the impact we have made in the lives of countless scholars and parents across Florida. Our free resources encompass a wide array of subjects – from academic assistance and enrichment programs to college and career guidance. Through partnerships with schools, universities, and various educational organizations, we have created a rich ecosystem of learning opportunities.

Meet our staff and volunteers

Nicole Dixon, Founder

Nicole has worked for several years as a college and career advisor to high school and college students. In her role, she has catered to homeless and foster youth to ensure they have the resources they need to transition from high school to college. After recognizing the lack of resources that are available in underserved communities, she was motivated to create Progressive Opportunities Inc. which bridges the gap between high school graduation and college enrollment. Every year, Nicole's mentees collectively earn over 4 million in scholarship dollars offered. The majority of her students graduate high school and attend college debt free. To commemorate the hard work that goes into the college and scholarship application season, Nicole organizes a College Decision Day event. This event allows students to begin college with college dorm essential items that will make transitioning into college a lot easier.

Destiny Bethel, pre-College peer mentor

Destiny is a pre-college mentor who serves as a role model. Destiny provides guidance and support to younger students who are preparing for college. Destiny graduated high school with over 60 college credits at the top 7% of her graduating class. Destiny has experienced the challenges of transitioning from high school to college and can offer valuable advice and mentorship to her younger peers. As a Pre-college peer mentor, Destiny assist students with academic and social skills, assist with navigating the college application process, and offer encouragement and motivation throughout the transition to college life.

Clara Llerena, Housing placement specialist

Clara is a compassionate and dedicated individual who specializes in helping homeless and foster youth find stable housing. Clara works with young adults to assess their needs and preferences, identify available housing options, and connect them with landlords, property managers, and other resources to ensure their success. The goal is to empower homeless and foster youth to establish a stable living situation and break the cycle of homelessness, enabling them to thrive and achieve their full potential.

Ami Merino community outreach specialist

With a passion for empowering individuals through education and opportunity, Mrs. Merino serves as a dedicated Community Outreach Specialist. With expertise in resume building, interview skills enhancement, and organizing impactful corporate and college tours, Mrs. Merino is committed to bridging the gap between education and professional success.
